Massage
Descriptions
Ashistsu AOBT (oriental bar therapy):
This is the 2nd deepest massage. Performed
on a regular massage table (over head bars are
used for balance, the therapist also uses her
feet. Done on bare skin with lots of oil this
luxurious massage is great for those who want
deep work but have trouble getting up from the
floor. This will feel like a very deep
Swedish massage.
Swedish: Long slow light strokes
applied to the whole body with oil. I am
no longer taking new clients for Swedish
massage.
Neuro muscular: This is a very
specific type of massage focused on pain relief.
Also known as trigger point therapy. This helps
to relieve pain such as chronic head aches,
tendonitis, anterior compartment syndrome,
sprained ankles, chronic upper and lower back
pain , sciatica and more. .Fijian massage may be
indicated first to soften tissue. This is not a
full body massage.
Cupping: Cupping is wonderfully
effective when incorporated in with other types
of massage but can be done on it’s own as well.
Traditionally, a cotton ball is clamped in
hemostats and soaked with alcohol. The cotton
is lit and inserted into the glass cup to create
a vacuum. The cotton is removed and the cup is
placed on the body then moved around. The
sensation is truly indescribable! This method
can also be done with plastic cups and a hand
pump. Used to drain excess fluids and toxins,
loosen adhesions, lift connective tissue, and
bring blood flow to stagnant muscles and skin,
all this and it feels great!
